- Beyoncé and daughter Blue Ivy went all out for a Lion King themed gala last night.
- Beyoncé also shared a video of Blue dancing and singing to a Lion King song, which was pretty frickin’ adorable.
So far the internet has been…divided over the new live-action remake of the Lion King. Disney recently released photos of what characters like Scar and Pumbaa will look like in the film, and people (read: Twitter) seem less than amped on these (admittedly terrifying) versions of the beloved cartoons. But you know who is still v excited about the Lion King remake and would like to get some positive press going for the film? Nala, who you might also know as Beyoncé.
Last night Queen Bey attended her mom Tina Lawson’s Wearable Art Gala in Santa Monica. According to the Los Angeles Times, the theme of the gala this year was “A Journey to the Pride Lands,” inspired by the new Lion King, and Beyoncé delivered.

But that’s not even the best part! Blue Ivy also dressed up for the event, looking adorable in a gorgeous yellow dress, a big gold head piece, and cute little heels that matched with her mom’s:
Beyoncé posted a ton of photos of her outfit on Insta, along with an adorable clip of Blue Ivy singing and dancing to the Lion King song “Circle of Life”:
And yes, this is so good that I can almost forgive Disney for the whole Pumbaa thing! Almost.
