Ooni’s wife attends christening of incarcerated #Endsars protester’s son
The wife of the Ooni of Ife, Prophetess Naomi Ogunwusi, attended the naming ceremony of the son of incarcerated #Endsars protester, Kemisola Ogunniyi.
The young woman was two months pregnant at the time of her arrest by soldiers in Akure, Ondo State capital alongside three others. On June 16, she welcomed her baby boy while in prison.
The naming ceremony of her child has now been held after her release, and the son was named Okikoiola Freedom Erinponmile.
In attendance was the wife of the Ooni of Ife, Prophetess Naomi Ogunwusi, who said she was touched by the circumstance in which the baby was born, presented him with baby items and foodstuffs for the baby’s family.
It can be recalled that activist and publisher, Omoyele Sowore shared her story on social media, revealing that Kemisola was arrested by the police on October 24 on grounds that she looked like one of the protesters that burnt the APC office in the state.
Sharing a photo of Kemisola and her new baby, Sowore said the new mom had been in prison since last year and has just welcomed her baby.
Posting photos of Kemisola with the baby, Sowore wrote;
”@RotimiAkeredolu Kemisola Ogunniyi just delivered a baby in prison. She was arrested in Akure during #Endsars, didn’t commit any offence, only going to the pharmacy for her mother @policeng arrested her, claimed she looks like #Endsars protesters who burnt @OfficialAPCNg office.
The green cloth on the table is the same she being wearing in prison.” Kemisola has been imprisoned at Surulere prison in ondo state since October 24th 2020!”
