Piers Morgan blocked Jedward after they asked Simon Cowell to stop his return to Britain’s Got Talent
Jedward have revealed they have been blocked on Twitter by Piers Morgan after they hit out at him this week.
The 29-year-old twin singers – whose real names are John and Edward Grimes – had gone on a rant on Twitter against Simon Cowell and the X Factor judges, saying their biggest regret was ‘not telling them to f**k off’.
They also added that Simon ‘thinks he’s the Mafia leader of the music industry when in reality he’s nothing but a bad facelift.’
The tweet that appeared to rile Piers into blocking Jedward was when they wrote: ‘Simon is considering Piers Morgan for judge on BGT after the s**t he said about Little Mix over this iconic photo! Have some respect for the girls you judgemental misogynistic farts!
‘Simon and BGT don’t be back stabbers hiring Piers Morgan. You would have no reputation without Little Mix and previous acts!
‘Still friends with a person who degraded young women in a hate campaign against them? Years may go by but fans don’t forget!’
Jedward shared a screenshot showing that they were blocked by Piers on Twitter, adding: ‘Confirmation @PiersMorgan is threatened and a coward! You can’t block free speech! No Justice No Peace.’
He said in 2018 that the band would never be featured on his show Piers Morgan’s Life Stories as ‘they’re not big enough’, and also came under fire for accusing the girls of sexualising themselves to promote their song Strip after appearing in promo artwork nude with insults written across their bodies.
The pair’s initial tweet asking Simon and Britain’s Got Talent not to rehire Piers as a judge had alluded to the fact there is no love lost between Piers and Little Mix.
The band had also roasted Piers on their tour, and hit back to his accusation, with Jade Thirlwall telling The Guardian at the time: ‘It’s not about sexualising yourself; it’s about having a voice and speaking out and being brave enough to stand up to people.’
